We help under-resourced entrepreneurs create thriving businesses in underserved areas so owners can build wealth for themselves, their families and communities. We do this by activating and engaging a top-tier network of professional volunteers who provide high-quality legal, financial and marketing services, at no cost.
PENGUIN START
PenguinSmart enables intelligent individualized rehab support services for families with children with communication disorders. Combining expert insight and machine learning, we enable caregivers anywhere to be a key member of the rehab journey for their loved ones. We are first serving the mainland China market with its 26M children with communication delay while developing a global solution.
PLAYWORKS
Playworks helps schools and districts make the most of recess through on-site staffing, consultative support, professional development, free resources, and more. Playtime is kids’ time. But schools can and should create play environments that help kids be their best. Studies show that recess matters: a thoughtful approach to recess improves children’s physical health and social and emotional learning.
JOYS OF GENESIS
We are creating Comfort Packs (backpack) for youth entering foster care. We know this is a transitional state when the children leave everything familiar to them. We believe by providing them with something of their own, can bring some comfort. No child deserves to have their clothes in trash bags. We also endeavor to create a tutorial program that will help youth in academics.
DREAM VOLUNTEERS
Dream Volunteers provides education opportunities to teens and young adults around the world. We do this primarily by providing academic scholarships in communities where quality education is a privilege, not a right, and by leading service trips for US-based student groups to those same international communities.
EEAF
EAAF is a world leader in applying forensic sciences to investigations of human rights violations. Since commencing work in the months after the fall of the last Argentine dictatorship in the mid-1980s, the organization has conducted investigations of high-profile cases in over 50 countries, supplied evidence for court proceedings and international tribunals, and provided trainings for judges, prosecutors, journalists, human rights defenders and others on how to interpret forensic evidence and apply it to their work.
OPEN SOURCE
Open Source is a participant-driven art initiative that provides space, community, and conceptual context for creative play and critical commentary. We present regular exhibitions of both local and international artists, arts education programs, artist talks, and other free and low-cost programming.
DOCUMENTED
Documented is a non-profit news site devoted solely to covering New York City’s immigrants and the policies that affect their lives. We provide original reporting on the ground-level impact of shifts in labor policy, law–enforcement practices and bureaucratic requirements, and on the effects of new federal directives.
POETRY SOCIETY OF New York
The Poetry Society of New York is a membership-based non-profit dedicated to promoting poetry within our culture. The society accomplishes its mission by creating engaging, one-of-a-kind experiences of poetry; by building meaningful partnerships in the worlds of art, literature, and business; and by fostering healthy and progressive poetry communities in cities across the globe.

TechWadi is the leading non-profit (501c3) organization building bridges between Silicon Valley and the MENA region. From its beginnings as the community of top Arab American technology professionals in Silicon Valley, TechWadi has evolved into a powerful platform for collaboration – with members and events spanning across the world.
In Silicon Valley, TechWadi brings together technology movers and shakers through conferences, networking events, workshops, and mentorship programs. CORENEWAL
CoRenewal is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to providing education and research in ecosystem restoration, health and healing, and sustainable community dynamics. CoRenewal is organized exclusively to conduct these activities: facilitate research, development, and implementation of solutions supporting ecosystem resilience; evaluate and ameliorate the impacts of environmental quality on individual and community health; engage in education, career-building, and research-oriented programs pertaining to ecology and sustainable community development.

Our mission is to provide a wide range of meaningful and fundamental services to children and families during the critical phase of a medical crisis. We serve families referred by medical agencies, by building a network of services and people who ease the burden of life's day-to-day obligations with compassion and care.
San Jose PARKS FOUNDATION
San Jose Parks Foundation is a community-based nonprofit organization dedicated to advocating for San Jose's parks and trails and the programs within them, by empowering residents and volunteers and securing private donations. The foundation creates partnerships with community groups and volunteers to provide stewardship of San Jose's Parks and Trails, supports fundraising and helps to cut red tape.
REDBIRD
Redbird is changing the way patients interact with the Ghanaian healthcare system to combat the rising burden of non-communicable and chronic disease. Redbird supplies pharmacies with training, software, and rapid diagnostic tools to become new centers of convenient primary healthcare, empowering patients to manage the health.
HEART TO HEART
Heart2Heart (H2H) Teens is a local non-profit organization privileged to serve low-income families and at-risk youth in Mountain View, Sunnyvale, and San Jose areas. Our Missions is to improve our community by offering leadership, mentoring and life-skills. We guide our youth and parents to become leaders in their communities -your community- and we give
them the tools to thrive in their future. We are changing society by investing in the future of our youth; changing lives one heart at a time.
VEGGIELUTION
Veggielution connects people from diverse backgrounds through food and farming to build community in East San José. Veggielution was founded by three San José State University students who wanted to build community through food and farming. With the support of the City of San José, Veggielution broke ground in 2008 on a 1/6-acre parcel of land at Emma Prusch Farm Park in East San José. Emma Prusch Farm Park is a former dairy farm that was deeded to the City of San José in 1962 with the stipulation that it always be used to demonstrate the agricultural history of this area once referred to as “The Valley of Heart’s Delight.” Since 2008, Veggielution has grown year by year on this historical and previously underutilized land to become a thriving 6-acre urban farm where neighbors can gather, learn, and play. Our organically-managed community farm connects thousands of Silicon Valley residents each year through programs that encourage experiential learning and healthy eating.
RESONANT BODIES
Resonant Bodies Festival is an annual series of contemporary vocal music festivals in NYC and abroad. Over the course of three nights, RBF presents nine vocalists, giving each of them 30 minutes to present repertoire of their choosing. In this way, RBF presents artists with a unique opportunity for complete curatorial freedom.
CREATIVE CRISIS
Our goal is to prepare the world to be unprepared. We develop and deliver immersive learning experiences to help individuals develop the skills and mindsets of spontaneous leaders. Our ongoing research efforts help grow understanding of improvised leadership in crisis. We bridge learning and research through engagement with a diverse set of communities.
SOMOS MAYFAIR
Organization—SOMOS Mayfair (SOMOS) is a California nonprofit public benefit corporation that was incorporated in 1997 to improve the human and physical conditions in the Mayfair area of east San Jose, California. The mission is to support children, organize families, and connect neighbors to uplift the dreams, power, and leadership of the community, and address systemic inequities. SOMOS is led by Board members, staff, and volunteers who are representative of the community it currently serves and who can develop a vision for the future.
AFRICA DIASPORA
African Diaspora Network is a registered 501(c)(3) non-profit membership organization. Our mission is to harness and engage the intellectual, financial, philanthropic and entrepreneurial capacity of Africans and friends of Africa in support of economic and social development across Africa.
Since 2010, the African Diaspora Network (ADN) has energized collaboration among Silicon Valley entrepreneurs, philanthropists, and African diasporans to uplift its local community towards the benefit of Africa. ADN is dedicated to providing virtual and physical forums to accelerate access to resources that foster partnership, knowledge sharing, and advance investment opportunities.
San Jose SPOTLIGHT
San Jose Spotlight is the city's first nonprofit news organization dedicated to independent political and business reporting. We will fill the gap left by a shrinking local media landscape by providing an innovative and sustainable model for delivering news to the nation's 10th largest city. We are proud to launch this venture at a time when journalism is under attack across the country and the need for accurate, reliable fact-based reporting is more critical than ever. Our mission is to change the face of local journalism by building a community-supported newsroom that increases civic engagement, educates citizens and strengthens our democracy.
YOUTH ADVOCACY
Youth Advocacy Corps’ mission is to empower young people (ages 15-25) from communities impacted by poverty with the drive, tools and networks needed to respond to their own needs and the needs of their communities and to tackle inequity head on. We envision a world in which youth are provided an equal opportunity to excel and lead their communities to collectively address economic and health injustices, which, in turn, will eliminate disparities and reduce the justice gap in struggling neighborhoods.
THE WAR HORSE
The War Horse makes war personal by educating our readers about military service, war, and its impact on those who serve. We are committed to giving voice to the military and veteran communities, challenging stereotypes associated with military service, and holding accountable the federal institutions responsible for our nation’s defense and national security through the lens of the people who live those policies daily.
THINK CHINATOWN
Think!Chinatown is a community based organization with a mission to build and connect resources to Manhattan’s Chinatown using the tools of art, culture, innovation, community engagement and volunteer energy. T!C is an intergenerational collaboration of older community leaders and young professional talent, including artists, musicians, urban planners, journalists, designers, and translators. By using innovative techniques while bridging linguistic and culture barriers, T!C’s presents Chinese diasporic culture in new contexts to create spaces where a younger generation of Chinese Americans can learn about their culture, where older generations of Chinese Americans can share their stories, where Chinese transnationals can connect with local community, and where New Yorkers can be introduced to Chinese diasporic culture.
MENTAL HEALTH ASSOCIATION San Mateo
Mental Health Association of San Mateo County (MHA) works to improve the quality of life for people in our community living with mental illness and/or HIV/AIDS. MHA seeks to ensure accessibility to adequate resources and works to guarantee that each person can live as independently and productively as possible.
URBAN ED ACADEMY
Urban Ed Academy (UEA) seeks to in-migrate 100 black male teacher-fellows into Bayview Hunter’s Point, San Francisco, CA by December 2020. The initiative, Man The Bay, secures teacher job placements for program fellows (within SFUSD schools) while also providing them workforce housing during the four-year service commitment.
United Nations MAJOR GROUP FOR CHILDREN
The United Nations Major Group for Children and Youth is the UN General Assembly-mandated, official, formal and self-organised space for children and youth (under 30) to contribute to and engage in certain intergovernmental and allied policy processes at the UN.
We act as a bridge between young people and the UN system in order to ensure that their right to meaningful participation is realized. We do so by engaging formal and and informal communities of young people, in the design, implementation, monitoring, follow-up, and review of sustainable development policies at all levels.
We have a long history, going back to 1992. The UNMGCY receives its mandate from Agenda 21, bilateral agreements and/or terms of reference with specific UN entitiesOur areas of work range from Policy and Advocacy to Knowledge to Youth Action to Capacity-Building.
DEAR TOMORROW
At deartomorrow.org, people create and share letters, photos and videos to their children, family or future self about their promise to take action on climate change. DearTomorrow aims to deepen engagement on climate change action, empower individuals and organizations to create and share stories about climate action, and change the public narrative on climate.
HEART FOR YOUTH USA
We empower at-promise youth to reach their full potential by connecting them with caring adults that provide ongoing guidance and encouragement. We want to help our youth become confident, self-assured, and grounded in a culture that supports and helps each other. We do this by providing guidance through adult mentors that help introduce them to positive experiences they can learn and grow from.
INSTEDD
At InSTEDD we envision a world where communities everywhere design and use technology to continuously improve their health, safety and development. Founded in 2006 from the TED Prize, and based in California’s Silicon Valley, InSTEDD now operates around the world to implement our vision. With startup funding from Google.org and the Rockefeller Foundation, which includes setting up innovation labs in Southeast Asia and Latin America, that are fostering collaborative engineering practices and entrepreneurial innovation in those regions.
RAIZING THE BAR
Razing the Bar believes that positive, supportive, and permanent relationships better equip under-resourced youth populations to focus on personal, academic, and professional development. By focusing on these relationships and championing interdependent communities, we at RTB believe we can drastically reduce the number of under-resourced youth who are dependent on public systems and transition these young people into a life of self-sufficiency and responsible adulthood.
AMAL ALLIANCE
We empower displaced children at refugee camps and informal settlements through education and integration programs, which counter the effects of chronic stress by harnessing the emotional intelligence needed to rebuild their lives. Through social emotional learning that incorporates kids yoga and mindfulness, children develop concentration, self-confidence, and self-worth.
SUSTAINABLE San Mateo
Sustainable San Mateo County’s mission is to stimulate impactful action on economic, environmental and social equity issues by providing accurate and empowering information, and best-in-class examples of sustainable solutions to guide us into the future. We engage regularly with a broad range of stakeholders to advance efforts aimed at advancing sustainability.
DINNER TABLE DOC
Founded in 2014, the Dinner Table Doc is a 501(c)(3) New York City, non-profit organization that hosts media literacy workshops and self esteem building events for young women of color ages 11-18.
Through our live dinner events and media literacy workshops we've been able to service over 400 girls in the Brooklyn, New York area.
